Benefits of Cacao and Maca

Benefits of cacao and maca

Health Benefits

Cacao and maca have a lot of benefits, including antioxidants.

Antioxidants can help reduce inflammation and lower the risk of chronic diseases like heart disease, stroke, and lung cancer.

Mental Health

Maca comes from the cruciferous family of vegetables, which includes broccoli, cabbage, and kale. For improving moods, reducing anxiety and depression, and improving memory and learning, it is worth trying. The cacao and maca drink make it easy to get the benefits in a great tasting way.

Vitamins & Minerals

Cacao and maca are nutrient-dense foods that provide the body with essential vitamins and minerals. Cacao is rich in iron, magnesium, and zinc, while maca contains high vitamin C, copper, and potassium levels. Mixing these ingredients with your diet will ensure you get the daily recommended amounts of these vital nutrients.Magical Budget Template

Cacao’s benefits are also impressive. They include fiber, vitamins, and minerals, and many experts believe it reduces the risk of diabetes, heart disease, and inflammation.

Brain Health

Cacao contains theobromine compound, which enhances dopamine levels in the brain and improves overall mood and energy. Maca is an adaptogen, meaning it helps reduce stress and fatigue and promotes a feeling of vitality.

Maca contains glucosinolates, which protect the brain and its functions. One powder fortifies the brain and protects it, improving mental clarity.

Cacao contains a high amount of flavonoids, which help improve brain health.

Exercise Benefits

Both cacao and maca provide several benefits for exercise. The flavanols in Cacao help improve blood flow to your muscles, while maca increases endurance and reduces muscle fatigue. Cacao and maca work quite well as either a pre-workout or post-workout drink.

Heart Disease

Cacao is rich in flavonoids, which reduce the risk of heart disease. Maca may also help lower blood pressure and improve cholesterol levels. Together, these ingredients can support cardiovascular health and reduce the risk of heart disease.

Digestion

Maca powder also benefits digestive health. It contains high levels of fiber, which supports quick digestion. Cacao powder is known to have prebiotic effects, meaning it helps stimulate digestive bacteria levels in your system.

How to Make Your Own Cacao Maca Drink:

Note: There are many ways to enjoy your cacao maca drink. Some popular options include a cacao maca coffee, a cacao maca hot chocolate, or even a cacao maca tea. The following is a maca latte recipe.

First, gather your ingredients. For this recipe, you will need the following:

  1. 1 cup of your choice of milk (almond milk and coconut milk give best results)
  2. 1 tablespoon raw cacao powder
  3. 1 teaspoon maca root powder
  4. 1-2 tablespoons of maple syrup or honey (coconut sugar also works)
  5. A pinch of cinnamon and black pepper
  6. A dash of vanilla extract
  7. Ice cubes (if you plan to drink it cold)

Start by heating the milk in a small saucepan (only if you plan to enjoy it warm; otherwise, just pour it into a mixing bowl). Make sure the milk is warm but not boiling.

Next, blend your milk with the maca and cocoa powder in a blender. Then add your sweetener of choice, vanilla extract, and spices of choice and blend until smooth.

Taste the drink along the way and adjust as needed. You can add more powder, sweetener, or spice to taste.

Finally, pour the drink into a mug if hot or into a glass if cold and enjoy! For extra flare, you can garnish the top of your concoction with whipped cream and either your maca or cacao powder.
