Giving money to an adult child who asks for it can feel like the natural thing to do. You love them, you want to help, and if you have the money, you may not give helping them a second thought.
But helping your children financially isn’t always as simple as writing a check. The more important question is whether helping them in this way supports their future or jeopardizes your own financial security and independence.
Without clear boundaries, ongoing financial support can affect your retirement, create resentment, and even prevent your children from learning important money lessons.
In this episode of The Millionaire Insider®, I share how to navigate these difficult conversations, determine when financial help makes sense, and set boundaries without guilt.

Conclusion – “When Adult Children Ask for Money”
Helping your adult children isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes you may want to help with an emergency, education, a home, or another opportunity that can improve their future.
Before you say yes, think about it. Decide what you can afford, what you are willing to fund, and whether your help moves your child toward greater independence or creates more dependence.
Sometimes the most loving thing you can do is say no. Instead, offer a different kind of support and allow your adult child to solve the problem themselves. When your financial house is in order, you have more freedom to say yes when it makes sense—and no when it doesn’t.
