My father was a small businessman in North Carolina, where I grew up with two brothers in a trailer. Often, we barely had enough money to make ends meet. When I was young, I knew I wanted to do better for myself, so I joined the Army and worked as a paratrooper for hazard pay.
After I left the Army, I married a girl I’d known since Middle School. We have four grown children and are grandparents.
While the kids were young, I worked as a mortgage banker for 15 years. Soon, I changed my career and became a financial planner and fiduciary. Then, after I helped a newly widowed professional woman arrange her finances for success, I realized that working with women was my calling. Now, I specialize in working with this underserved group.
